This warden message is to remind the American community of our May 5 Travel Warning, which informed U.S. citizens of the destruction caused to Burma by Cyclone Nargis from May 2-3, 2008, advised that American citizens in cyclone-affected areas should strongly consider departing Burma on commercially available flights, and that American citizens outside of Burma should defer non-essential travel to Burma at this time.  The Department of State also authorized the departure from Burma of non-emergency American citizen Embassy employees and family members.

We would also like to inform the American community about international flight availability.  At present, all airlines are flying according to their regular schedules.  There are currently economy class seats available on some airlines, while some flights have only business class seats between now and May 12.  All airline offices are open with normal office hours and regular duty shifts.  Reservations can be made directly with the airlines or with a local travel agency.
