This Warden Message alerts U.S. citizens to the latest information regarding human cases of H1N1 Influenza A, formerly known as swine flu. As of this date, the World Health Organization reports that there are no cases of H1N1 flu in Burma. However, the Burmese Ministry of Health has stated that it is planning to screen incoming and outgoing passengers at the international airports in Rangoon and Mandalay by taking passengers’ temperatures. Passengers should plan accordingly.
The everyday actions listed below can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like the influenza illness:
Avoid close contact with people who are sick. When you are sick, keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too.
If possible stay home from work, school, and errands when you are sick. You will help prevent others from catching your illness.
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick.
Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs.
