This warden message is to inform the American community of three small explosions that occurred in Burma from January 11-13, 2008. The latest occurred on January 13, 2008, at approximately 2:15 p.m., in the freight handling yard near the Myanmar Railways Yangon Station advance ticketing center on Bogyoke Aung San Street in downtown Rangoon. One Burmese citizen suffered minor injuries; there is no visible evidence of damage to the vicinity. On January 11, at 4:30 a.m., an explosion occurred in a staff-area toilet near Pyinmana Railway Station, near the administrative capital of Nay Pyi Taw. Burmese authorities reported that one Burmese citizen died as a result of the explosion. Also on January 11, an explosion occurred at a public festival near Pyu, north of Rangoon, where one Burmese citizen reportedly was killed and four were injured. We have no credible evidence about who might have planted the bombs.
